Wrong Way to hold a Scimitar

I've been drawing ponies so often recently, that I realized that I need to get back to drawing my own characters!

So, here's a sketch I made in my little sketchbook, as a little practice for drawing bodies in motion. Some proportions are a little off, and some of the posing looks a little odd, but I think it generally carries off the idea well enough.

And yes, I know that's a horrible way to hold a scimitar. I had drawn Trace, the guy on the right, first. When I drew the other, unnamed, guy, I realized that he was aiming way too low for Trace to be dodging like that.

Solution? A scimitar. Held improperly.

Trace's last name is now Stalsen, instead of Futeki. As usual, these things are always subject to change, but at least now Trace doesn't have a European named smacked together with a Japanese one.

Trace is a character in Paving the Way, a fantasy story being worked on by me and my brother, Tallgrass .
